Lunch today has been brought to you by Food Looks Prettier In Front Of The Window, and No Instagram, I’m Not Actually Sponsored By Anyone So Leave Me Alone. I know it’s been a hot minute since I’ve posted, and more often than I’d like I find myself saying this! It feels like the days are flying by, and in my part of the world it’s suddenly spring and things are suddenly alive. It might be summer next week, but for now I’m going to enjoy the moderate temperatures, the rain and thunder storms, the delight of witnessing life spring out of the ground. Winters hold has broken, and and all things are being made new. With so much excitement to look forward to this year, I don’t want to get caught up in and distracted by looking ahead and forgetting the everyday moments now that I will never get back. 🌳🌷🌱🐝 featured food: matcha latte, breakfast salad, and a keto muffin with cream cheese 🌷 #spring #comealive #ketobreakfast #matcha #thankful #breakfastsalad I wanted to try this company @prose because I heard good things about them. I have been using them for a few months when I found out from my doctor I was very sensitive to one of the ingredients they use. I contacted their customer service and they responded that they were sorry to hear I had an issue with one of their ingredients, and they offered to curate a NEW shipment FREE of charge, WITHOUT any of the ingredients I was sensitive to! They sent me this box of hair products suited to my needs, and I am just super happy with their level of customer care. They could have simply said, ‘sorry, yes we use that!’ And I would have moved on to a different brand, but they were willing to go out of their way to replace my products without those ingredients for me. I’m super impressed right now ❤️ #prose #prosehair #customerservicedoneright #companiesthatcare Today’s lunch is brought to you by my new pretty standing desk that I stayed up late last night assembling that will likely be the backdrop for many posts to come. New Blog: ‘When it comes to our physical bodies things are often narrowed down to simply what not to do. Do not be gluttonous (does anyone even pay attention to this?) -oh and you should probably exercise because Paul said to run the race well, didn’t he? Far too often we completely ignore what we do three times a day, every single day, and will spend hours doing for the rest of our lives. I’ve been quiet lately. And it’s mostly because I’ve been tired. Emotionally tired. Mentally tired. My test results showed sensitivities I never would have guessed, and realized that in the months and weeks I had been trying to heal my gut, even with doing the GAPS Diet, I’ve been making things worse. Seemingly harmless foods were the ones that have been harming me the most! Now that I know that, along with the tests showing how poorly my thyroid and adrenals are functioning and how low my vitamin D levels are, I finally feel like I have direction. I’m still tired, most days feeling fairly uninspired, but I’m not stopping, I’m not giving up. I will keep going. And I trust the Lord will use this journey to glorify Him. Throwback to food I wish I could eat now 🤣 it’s all perspective! When you’re on a soft foods/ liquid diet you crave the meals that before were even ‘too restrictive’. It’s when you can’t have what you want that you also realize what a hold food has over you. It controls so much of our everyday lives, and our thoughts and emotions. Now I have to basically eat to survive, not necessarily to thrive....yet. That will come, and with the delayed gratification will come a deeper appreciation for foods that I once took for granted. I love food. It should be seen as a gift from God, not something to abuse and expect. Many do not even have the luxury of daily meals, I’m so thankful I do (even if it’s just soup!); so how are you cultivating a thankful and grateful heart today when it comes to your food, and your health? #cultivate #realfood #foodisagift #gapsdiet #liquiddiet #donttakeitforgranted #regenerative #thankfulness #begrateful Not many people probably realize that I don’t have it all figured out. Everything in my Instagram feed probably screams ‘she knows what she is doing, she’s got it figured out, she doesn’t struggle.’ But that’s far from it. People who know me personally in real life know what’s going on, but I’ve kept it pretty low key on social media. I thought however that sharing may be helpful for others to know. How mindful are we when it comes to our food ? Do we know how the animal was raised, how the food was grown, who the farmer was that had sleepless nights as they worried over their crops, praying they’d grow to harvest? We are too disconnected from our food to realize what a tremendous blessing it is to us. How fortunate and privileged we are in this part of the world to have food excess, stuff we mindlessly throw in the trash. What steps can we take today to change our mindset on food from one of pure consumption to one of gratefulness? Together we can fight the tide towards sustainability, towards regeneration #food #begrateful #regenerativerevolution #eatrealfood #homemade #diylunch #easylunch #vegetablecentric #pasturedmeat
